And now for something
completely different.
There's a new trend in driving that is pretty exciting that
greatly increases miles per gallon. I've just started doing
it but it raised my mpgs from 27 to over 40! It was started
by a guy named Wayne Gerdes and you can learn more about it
at his website.

Or you can watch a little story KARE 11 did on it with me.

Here are some quick tips for hypermiling.
Tips for Hyper-mileage driving
1. Be considerate. Don't tie up traffic. Stay within 5 mph
of the posted limit.
2. Accelerate slowly. As slowly as conditions permit.
3. Coast in neutral whenever possible, especially down
hills.
4. Time stop lights. Every time you apply the brakes you
waste energy.
5. Use only as much gas as you need. Never speed.
6. Inflate your tires to the recommended pressure and use
low weight oil.
7. If you're going to be stopped at a light for more than
10 seconds, turn off the engine.
8. Never coast with your car turned off, never tailgate a
semi, and don't overly impede the flow of traffic.
